CULT TV AWARDS 2009  Reply with quote

With the nominations round concluded, it's now time to vote in the Cult TV Awards. And what prizes we have for you as an incentive to do so. Two lucky voters will receive a copy of the double disc CD "The Music of ITC", featuring a whole host of shows you've always wanted the tracks to. In addition, the grand prize winner will not only receive this two-disc set, but also the new single CD releases from Network of The Prisoner, Department 'S', Man In A Suitcase, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased), and Danger Man. So, that's one heck of an incentive to tell us your favourites in the Cult TV Awards.

Details of these prizes can be found at:

Voting closes on 15 November 2009

And the winners are ...  Reply with quote

The winners of this year's Cult TV Awards will be announced tonight (Wednesday) at 8.00pm at www.cult.tv

You'll also be able to see a trio of Awards presentations, as well as this year's Obituary Tape (sterling work there from Justin Allum, and thanks to cameramen John P and Mark Withall).

Some surprises in the choices ... democracy, marvellous!

You know what - it's great to read a nice balanced review of our Awards - and from the other side of The Pond!

Just goes to show, we're getting more currency worldwide than ever before; the amount of votes cast this year was the most since 1999, which is proof of how how things are opening out for us.

Definitely the time to get the presentation ceremony back as a live event, with a worldwide transmission on the web .... !

I see they've not grasped the difference between "terrestrial" and "digital" TV series!

Certainly it's different Stateside in terms of show delivery/consumption, and with the Digital switch-over now in progress across the UK, the designations of Terrestrial and Digital-only are going to have to change.

At the moment I think it may be a case of "Free To Air" screenings and "Premium/Paid-for" channel screenings being how we draw the line in future. Certainly the way we currently have it has meant that some shows get a bite at Digital-only and then Terrestrial. Certainly this can still happen with slightly remodelling the caregories.

Alhough I think there must be more snappy wording than "Free To Air" and "Premium" ....

Shocked

Especially as there's already Digital terrestrial TV in the form of Freeview.
